The Ex Files - 6. Filip Sebo
Filip Sebo started his career in his native Slovakia for Inter Bratislava's youth team but it was in Germany that he would make his senior debut for 1.FC Koln II (FC Koln's reserve team who play in the German lower divisions).
He played 50 league games for 1.FC Koln II scoring 25 goals between 2001-2003 but never made the breakthrough to the first team. He was sold to Inter Bratislava where he had started his youth career.
In his first season he scored 8 goals from 30 league games and his form earned him a move to Inter's neighbours Artmedia Bratislava. A team who old firm fans will no doubt be familiar with.
His form got even better with Artmedia where he scored 22 goals from 33 league games, he got another move at the end of that season and this time to a bigger club, namely Austria Vienna.
It was at Austria Vienna where he impressed new Rangers boss Paul le Guen. He only scored 6 goals in 32 league games for Austria Vienna in the 2005-2006 season but Paul le Guen had seen enough and made him one of his first signings.
Sebo found goals hard to come by at Rangers but he did become a cult hero. Rangers fans loved him despite the fact that Celtic fans mocked him. He actually scored in his debut against Hibernian but only added 1 more goal to his league tally from 24 games.
He will perhaps be better known for scoring in a pre-season glamour friendly against Chelsea at Ibrox. But by then Paul le Guen was gone and he was moved on by returning boss Walter Smith.
Walter Smith sent him to French side Valenciennes on a year loan deal, the move eventually became permanent. He spent three years at Valenciennes but only scored 6 goals in 62 league games.
So where is he now? Well he has returned home and he is now playing for yet another Bratislava team, this time arguably the biggest of the Bratislava teams - Slovan. He has found some form again scoring 27 goals from 40 league games.
Sebo has also played for his country. He has got a decent scoring record scoring 7 goals from 15 games. He scored a hat-trick on his debut against Malta.
