Vital Report - Livingston 1-1 Rangers

1 - 1

Almondvale Stadium

Attendance: 6,505

Rangers' Scottish Championship season continued with a draw at the Almondvale Stadium against Livingston on Saturday.

A win might have been expected by many, more so after going ahead through Holt, however Rangers had to settle for a one-one draw when Hippolyte drew the hosts level in the second half.

Having dominated possession the chances weren't coming Rangers' way until Holt (22) made the breakthrough around the midway point of the first half.

A third-goal in his last five-matches as he made the most of some fortune, which his run into the box saw him rewarded with, as Gallacher cut out a McKay pass for Waghorn but straight to Holt who did the rest.

Would this open the floodgates? Some might have felt it would but it didn't!

Livingston stuck in there and called for a handball against Kiernan from a Sheerin effort, which wasn't awarded before Rangers did almost make it two-nil as McKay curled and effort onto the post.

White could have levelled it up ahead of the break but with a free headed he put this straight as a grateful Foderingham!

An equaliser might not have come before the break but it did soon after! Hippolyte (51) finished off similarly to Holt's opener for Rangers to finish past Gers 'keeper Foderingham this time to make it one-one early in the second half.

Livingston were only narrowly beaten by Hibernian in the midweek prior to this, which saw Hibs move to within two-points of Rangers before kick-off, and you could see why as the Gers pushed for a winner that couldn't be found.

McCallum did have to save well from Halliday with the Livingston 'keeper also denying Miller the chance to celebrate his new deal with a goal. Waghorn, McKay and Miller again could have won it for Rangers but it wasn't to be....

As this dominance of possession couldn't be converted into enough clear chances for another win, with Hibernian doing this they drew level on points with Rangers but the Gers do have that superior goal-difference to fall back on and, at this stage, also have a game in hand.
