Vital Report - Rangers 5-0 Raith
Rangers' Scottish Championship season continued with a yet another, and very convincing at that, win at Ibrox against Raith on Saturday.
After an earlier Wallace goal Rangers never looked back, Tavernier added another before the break with McKay and a penalty double from Waghorn once again securing a five-nil win! A win that also underlined, as things stand, the Gers' supremacy in the Championship so far!
Plenty of problems were caused by Wallace and Tavernier and it was the former, Wallace (4), that got Rangers off to a flying start once more when he curled home a well worked freekick but with more goals threatened it looked like it would be just the one at the break.
That was until, with his sixth goal from defence already this season, Tavernier (45) finished a move after a one-two with Spurs loanee Oduwa.
Oduwa, never short of skill or trickery embarked on a run after the break that saw him pull the ball across the six-yard box to Waghorn, this was blocked out but McKay (55) was left with a simple tap in from a yard out!
Not to be denied Waghorn 'won', and I think won is a fair assessment, a penalty as a soft away for a Toshney foul on him gave him the chance to score his first, and Rangers' fourth. Waghorn (64) made no mistake.
That man, Raith man Toshney that is, was the man to concede a second penalty minutes later when he brought down Oduwa to give Rangers another penalty, Waghorn (69) once again made no mistake.
No more goals were added, five were more than enough though, with no real threats came Rangers' way from Raith either though!
Did a starter, or someone from the bench, offer the most in this latest thrashing handed out by Rangers?
