Cowdenbeath 0-0 Rangers (Champ)
It might be a new era off the pitch at Rangers but our troubles on it continued as a Cowdenbeath, thrashed ten-nil by runaway leaders Hearts just seven-days earlier, held us to a nil-nil draw at Central Park on Saturday.
The new directors, Paul Murray, John Gilligan and Dave King watched on but any hope that this lift would bring a lift on the pitch was misplaced as the chance to close on Hibernian was lost - technically gained as one of our games in hand saw us close the gap on them by a point but we would have expected more....
With the win so strong, which didn't help things for either side, Cowdenbeath 'keeper Thomson was struggling to reach the halfway line with his goal kicks, which might have made some of us feel better about our footballing abilities! Obviously the win was playing its part. It caused havoc with set pieces and routine passes in something of a leveller.
Clark, Boyd and Miller had chances but couldn't take them with the closest we came in the 90-minutes a McCulloch header against the bar - Armstrong, for Cowdenbeath, putting a header onto the roof of the net.
According to the manager the effort couldn't be faulted though: McDowall - No Lack Of Cowdenbeath Effort (Click Here).
