Scottish Cup - Rangers 1-2 Raith Rovers
Defeat to Celtic seven days earlier wasn't something we wanted but it was more acceptable, a Rangers defeat to Raith Rovers wasn't at all as our Scottish Cup campaign ended in bitterly disappointing fashion on Sunday.
Having fallen behind an equaliser would have, expectedly, seen us then go onto at least draw but no we still ended up losing two-one at Ibrox as Raith beat us at home for the first time in 56-years....
As it happened, from the 'Rangers five' only two were fit, Vuckic and Streete started after an injury to Bigirimana in training.
Chances went to both sides in the first half but it was Watson's header from a corner that went closest when he hit the post with Simonsen beaten - Streete might have stated the game but he didn't make it as far as half time before injury forced him off, on came McGregor.
The deadlock was broken early in the second half when Conroy (54) fired home a wonderful freekick from the edge of the box, which swiftly threatened an equaliser but Raith survived.... Not for long though with Vuckic (62) powering the ball into the corner of McGurn's net to draw us level.
Boyd and Law both had good chances to put us ahead but it was a cross from Thompson left Foster and Simonsen unable to deal with the ball in to leave Nade (75) with a simple tap in to win it for Raith.
The Boyd return to Rangers, which hasn't worked has it, was summed up when he missed a header from six-yards that was easier to miss than score - the Boyd of old wouldn't have needed a moments invitation as we're left to 'concentrate on the league' now.
Following this game, as is customary of course, attention now turns to the MotM for us - who you think this was?
Select the name that you want from the list in the poll to your right, but why not also share your thoughts with us on your thinking for that person, and this latest game itself, with some views....
