Rangers struggle to second straight win.

1 - 3

Rangers stuttered to a 2-1 victory against St.Johnstone in Perth this weekend, thanks to a late winner from Sasa Papac.

The hosts were the dominant team by far in the early going, and after Martin Hardie hit the post with a close-range header, Saints to the lead when Colin Samuel sprung the Champions flimsy offside trap before slotting the ball through the legs of Allan McGregor.

The lack of confidence in the Rangers side was evident more than ever throughout the opening 45, but Kris Boyd capitalised on a defensive error to equalise just before half-time when a poor clearance fell into his lap.

Chances were few and far between in the second half although Murray Davidson should've done better with a diving header inside the box for St.Johnstone.

After several changes and a period of relatively high pressure on the Saints defence towards the game's climax, Rangers clinched the winner when a move down the left was started and finished by Sasa Papac, cooly slotting home a left-footed curler from 12 yards.

With Celtic dropping 2 points at home to Motherwell a few hours later, this turned out to be a massive win for Rangers, but with Hibernian visiting Ibrox next week, not to mention the Champions League fixture tomorrow, we absolutely must improve.

Star Player

Sasa Papac - Hard to choose anyone, but his late goal and some fine tackling made him our star man.
