Rangers have 'renewed interest` in Championship Ace
It`s looks as though we have revived our pursuit of Louis Moult if a report in the Sun is to be believed. The newspaper reports we have "renewed interest" in the forward.
The club were said to have kept tabs on the 25 year old when he was at Motherwell, but he made the move down South instead to play for English Championship Preston North End in January.
So far things haven`t worked out for the striker. He arrived with a knee injury and has struggled to make an impression since his return to full fitness, making just two starts and six appearances in all without scoring.
The fact that he hasn`t featured at all in the club`s last three games may suggest that North End`s boss Alex Neil has seen enough of him already. So, would it be a good idea for us to get him in this summer?
Well, he was in superb form playing in the Premiership in the first half of the season, and his 50 goals in all competitions from 98 games in Scotland suggests he would have an impact if he did move to Ibrox.
Still, there are a couple things we should consider. The transfer fee shouldn`t be an issue. The player was signed on a modest fee due to his contract expiring, and I doubt Preston could command a high fee for the player considering his lack of game time.
Secondly, we will need to consider the future of Jason Cummings. Are we going to follow up our loan with a permanent offer? Or would Moult be a better alternative? Let me know in the poll!
