Two In Two Delights Rangers Loanee

Having arrived from Brighton in the January transfer window, Jamie Murphy has spoken of his delight at making it two goals in two games for Rangers.

The winger was brought in to his boyhood club by manager Graeme Murty last month and with six starts to his name and a substitute showing so far following his arrival, Murphy told the Official Site that having now bagged his first two goals he was pleased with how he was settling into the club and he felt there was certainly more to come from him with his fitness improving.

The 28 year old scored his first goal against Ayr United in the Scottish Cup and backed that up with an effort against Hamilton Academical and with three assists to his name from that game as well, he had to be delighted with his contribution.

'It was an enjoyable game to play in, you want to be in a team which scores goals but we are disappointed to concede the goals that we did so there are still a lot of things to work on. It is a bit weird to feel like this after scoring five in a game but if we are going to win games we have to score goals and we managed to do that. We are disappointed as a team that we conceded a few so we will definitely work on that.'

Murphy went on to say about our defensive performance in the game.

'We defend as a team, we lose goals as a team and we score goals as a team. We are still working on the complete game, it is not perfect yet but it is up to us to fix.'

Reflecting on his own efforts in front of goal lately, he added.

'The feeling of scoring for Rangers is amazing; it is something I have always dreamed about, scoring goals for this football club. It was good to get the first league one today but the first one last week felt better. Every goal is amazing but you can`t beat your first one. I have been happy with my performances so far, I have been really enjoying playing in the team, the boys in the changing room are great and the manager is great.'

With the victory moving Rangers back into second place and ahead of Aberdeen.

'We are doing well, we had a little blip against Hibs but apart from that we have looked really solid. You want goals and assists, you don`t want to be going through games and not contributing. I am glad to get my goal but the assists mean just as much.'

He also had praise for Josh Windass and Daniel Candeias.

'Josh has been terrific, if you put the balls in areas he scores goals and we are delighted for him getting another hat-trick. I like playing in the three, they are both good players, Danny and Josh and you know Danny will create goals and Josh is going to do both. We just want to win every game and we don`t go into any game not thinking about winning it. It is up to us to keep doing that and see how far we can go.'
