Murty Pleased With Florida Trip

Murty Pleased With Florida Trip

With back to back wins in the Florida Cup, interim manager Graeme Murty has spoken of his hopes at bringing that form back into the Premiership when Rangers return.

Having taken a one nil victory over Atletico Mineiro in midweek, before back that up with a four two victory over Corinthians - a game we had to battle back from two nil down in - Murty told the Official Site that the trip had been very positive in his eyes and he wanted to take those standards back into our league campaign.

'I was pleased with the first-half too, I thought that we moved the ball really well and I said to the players at half-time if you give good opposition opportunities they are going to punish you and I thought that`s what happened. I thought we were more than in the game the first-half we just needed to be a little bit tighter at times and a little bit more switched on. I thought in the second-half we stepped onto the game a little bit more but in both periods I thought we played with a bit of tempo and a bit of pace.'

Murty went on to say.

'We will take real positives from this, it has been a great experience being out here, it has been good for the players to bond but winning can be a habit and I would like to get into that winning habit and I think the players would as well. If we keep that standard high collectively, and it can`t just be me, then we will get better and I think we`ll get better from what we`ve just seen. We took the opportunity to come here because it was an opportunity, we took it in a positive manner, to go and actually lay some really good groundwork for the second-half of the season. We have to ensure we take the positive feeling we have right now and the positive bonding that we`ve had and take it into the second-half of the season.'

With our new signings also making the trip out as they adjust to their arrival at the club, Murty was also delighted with the selection dilemma's he now has.

'I have more of an idea of what a headache I`ve got because I think everyone has brought something to the party here. Everyone who played has added something to the collective and that is what we want, we want more good players in the squad pushing and improving the people around them and challenging for places. If we get that training will be better, games will be better and hopefully if we react in a positive way we can push ourselves to a higher place.'

Adding.

'Overall their general understanding, considering them haven`t really played together a lot was really good and really pleasing for me. The more we can train together the better we are going to get and the more they are going to understand each other so it becomes more fluid. Next week is going to be really good.'
