Foderingham Extends Rangers Deal

Foderingham Extends Rangers Deal

Goalkeeper Wes Foderingham has today signed a new one year extension to his deal at Rangers.

The 26 year old stopper has now signed a 12 month extension to his current deal seeing him through until May 2020 and he recently broke the 100 appearance mark for the club in our victory over Dundee at the start of September.

During his time at the club he has been part of the side that secured promotion from the Championship and lifted the Challenge Cup in 2015/16.

Speaking to the Official Site after signing his deal, Foderingham said.

'I am very happy. Since I have joined the club I have remained the number one and I have had great times at the football club. I was keen to extend my stay and it made sense for both parties. I am just happy playing my football here, I had two years left on my deal and the club approached me and said they wanted to extend it. Of course I had no reservations about that and I am happy to sign.'

He went on to say.

'If I am being totally honest I had options to leave this summer but in my mind I always wanted to stay at this football club, the club said they wanted to keep me here and I am pleased they did. I joined this football club to play in Europe, to be on the big stage and I want to be there when the club returns. All the boys here want to be playing in Europe and at the highest level possible - I think I can achieve that at Rangers.'

With Foderingham being one of our longest servants now following changes, he went on to say he enjoyed the more leadership role he's taken on.

'I have been here one of the longest now and I try to use my voice in the dressing room and be a leader as well. I want to improve on last year; last season was a bit of a disappointment as was being knocked out of Europe at such an early stage as well. Hopefully we can go one better in the league, win a cup and do better in Europe next season. I do feel like Glasgow is home now, I have settled in very well, I have bought a place up here and my girlfriend has recently moved up here as well. I am nice and settled and have no reason to leave.'
