Caixinha - We Focus On Ourselves
Pedro Caixinha has said he's not looking at Aberdeen or Celtic as we prepare for the 2017/18 Premiership, he simply wants to focus on Rangers and ensure that we are getting performances and results right this year.
Speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media for his pre game press conference yesterday, Caixinha explained.
'I am not challenging about Celtic or Aberdeen, I am concerned about returning the greatness to this club and greatness will return to this club by challenging all of the teams that we are facing. I don`t have an idea now about playing Celtic or Aberdeen, I am just focussed on Motherwell and after that, the League Cup match and after that against Hibernian and Hearts. I am not just focussed on two teams, I am focussed on all of the teams that we will face. If you want to win three points in each of the games, you need to do that one at a time.'
Making the short trip to Fir Park to face Motherwell on Sunday for the early kick off, Caixinha went on to say he'd already done his homework on Stephen Robinson's side and he backed Rangers to kick off their campaign with the three points he wants - with that said he's expecting a challenge from the hosts.
'I expect a good team, a good side with good players and a good coach. Like all the other teams, they want to start the season.'
Pivoting to fitness and injury news, he admitted we were without James Tavernier and Niko Kranjcar for the game as they have picked up knocks.
'Only James and Niko. We don`t know when they are supposed to return. Maybe James before Niko, but that is all that we have so far. Niko has a problem with his hip, and James has a problem with his foot. Danny is back in training with the team and has had minutes against Sheffield.'
