McCoist Pleased With Another Win

Manager Ally McCoist has said he was pleased to see Rangers pick up another win against Dumbarton and he was delighted with the scoreline - but not the goal we conceded.

A four one victory gave the manager plenty of positives and built on a good week/fortnight for us with us now stringing wins together, but speaking to the Official Site the gaffer admitted one negative was certainly another sloppy goal conceded.

For the fourth time in five games we failed to keep a clean sheet when Bilel Mohsni put the ball in his own net as the game drew to a close, and that left McCoist thinking about our defensive issues once again.

'We definitely deserved to win the game, I'm delighted but at the same time a little bit annoyed we didn't keep a clean sheet. We scored some good goals, were very positive and we hit the post a couple of times, and generally, it was a good day's work but we were disappointed to concede.'

McCoist goes on to say it looks like a lack of concentration to him having watched the goal back and of course that's been an issue in games so far, as we aren't conceded 'good' goals, they are sloppy and avoidable in his mind so it's something we need to sharpen up on.

Overall the gaffer also commented on players starting to hit form, especially in our attacking positions now because it's giving him a good selection headache and he feels comfortable with the competition we have in those positions, so if we can nail down some more clean sheets and sort out that end of the pitch he'll be very happy indeed, especially if performances continue on an upward curve.
