20 Man Squad Travels To Derby

20 Man Squad Travels To Derby

Manager Ally McCoist has taken a squad of 20 for our pre season friendly at the iPro Stadium against Derby County.

With Rangers in competitive action on Tuesday night against Hibernian, the gaffer will certainly be looking for a strong and positive performance from the lads, and Derby will be a good test having missed out on promotion to the Premier League last term.

The full squad:

Cameron Bell
Steve Simonsen
Richard Foster
Darren McGregor
Marius Zaliukas
Steven Smith
Bilel Mohsni
Lee Wallace
Lee McCulloch
Nicky Law
Ian Black
Lewis Macleod
David Templeton
Kyle Hutton
Robbie Crawford
Fraser Aird
Dean Shiels
Calum Gallagher
Kris Boyd
Kenny Miller

McCoist has also said that this game will be the toughest test we have faced in pre season so far.

'I'm really looking forward to our game against Derby. I remember the boys all went down for Ted's (McMinn) testimonial and I think we actually had a record attendance that day. It was an unbelievable afternoon for the big man and it was really special to be part of that. It will be great going down there again and it will be a real test for us. We need to be organised and it's certainly our biggest challenge yet this summer, that's for sure.'

Pleasing Return For McCulloch

McCulloch divided opinion at times, certainly towards the end of his spell, so it wasn't entirely clear what sort of reaction he would have got upon his return with Kilmarnock.

Killie Frustration For Warburton

Frustrating is the word that best sums things up with Mark Warburton admitting to such a feeling following the goalless draw with Killie.

Vital Report - Rangers 0-0 Kilmarnock

McCulloch returned to Rangers, as caretaker of Kilmarnock, and duly took his side away with a nil-nil draw I'm sure he'll take as we failed to score for the first time under Warburton.
