Little To Move On

Little To Move On

Manager Ally McCoist met with striker Andy Little today and informed him that he wouldn't be offered a new contract for next season.

Little has had a very frustrating campaign as injuries took their toll, namely the broken jaw and cheekbone following the game with Dunfermline last November. Up until that point, the striker who turns 25 on Monday, had scored six times for the club but since returning to fitness he has failed to score again, and then succumbed to further injury problems when he picked up a thigh knock against Airdrie in March.

Taking to Twitter to announce the news, last season's Sam English Bowl winner was obviously disappointed with the news.

'It has been the best eight years of my life. Being a Ranger has been an honour and I'll be one till the day I die. Thank you to all at the club.'

Manager Ally McCoist praised the player for his contribution to the club during his time with us, especially his goalscoring exploits in last year's promotion.

'Andy will move on this summer and we thank him for his efforts, he has enjoyed some great moments with the club. His commitment has been excellent and he enjoyed a good partnership with Lee McCulloch - we wish him all the best for the future.'

Since joining us back in 2008, the Northern Ireland international has gone on to make 63 starts for the club, with a further 31 appearances from the bench, scoring 38 times in total across all competitions.
