McCoist Expecting More Against Albion Rovers

McCoist Expecting More Against Albion Rovers

Manager Ally McCoist has said that having had such a good eight day break between our last game and the Scottish Cup tie should help us regain some zip and endeavour to our performance tomorrow.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game, and already having admitted the tired and lacklustre performance against East Fife in our last match, if fatigue and tiredness was an issue underpinning that showing, the gaffer is confident we'll see a performance more befitting Rangers this weekend having had a good week on the training pitch, and importantly a good number of days to rest, relax, and recover.

'I felt we didn't have any real zip at East Fife, outwith perhaps David Templeton. Anything constructive we did seemed to come from him. We looked like we lacked a wee bit of urgency and we can do better. We're looking for an improved performance at the weekend and having had a full week to prepare now is definitely a good thing.'

McCoist - defending the team a little again - also goes on to say that teams with midweek fixtures in recent times have all struggled at the weekend, and he certainly counts us amongst that group, but uses it no doubt to demonstrate we aren't in our own little bubble - many criticising the performances would point to 2014 though and not only recent weeks.

'We were disappointed with the level at New Bayview, I would hope now though, with eight days to get ourselves ready, it has given us a chance to freshen up.'

Well know tomorrow if that goes to plan.
