Law - We Are Getting Stronger

Nicky Law has said that following criticism from the gaffer about us defensively switching off, he feels we have really tightened up at the back of the squad.

Last month especially Ally McCoist thought we were being too open in defence and were being sloppy and switching off at points and Law says the team have been working very hard on their defensive efforts in recent times and he feels since the game against Dunfermline at the end of December, which marked the stamp of five consecutive clean sheets, we are now getting our rewards for that additional focus.

Speaking to the Official Site, especially with four of those games coming away from Ibrox, Law says our defensive solidarity has certainly come to the fore in recent times and what we now need to do is balance that properly with our attacking intent.

'A little bit of sloppiness crept in and the manager didn't want that to become a permanent thing, to get five clean sheets in five tough games has been really pleasing. We've maybe not been scoring as many, but we need to make sure we are tight at the back.'

Law says the team have gone back to defending from the front properly in recent games and it's really paying off for us, and with the players we have it's only a matter of time before we balance that defensive strength with our attacking players, and keep it both tight at one end, but then are more free scoring at the other.

'We were more worried about the goals we were conceding but we're on a great run now and it's on the whole team can be proud of. We're all contributing to it.'

Law is now looking ahead to Arbroath with the hopes of taking our sixth consecutive win since the draw against Stranraer and also keeping a sixth clean sheet to boot since the same game.
