Centre half Bilel Mohsni will now miss this Sunday's game against Stenhousemuir after he picked up a yellow card during the game and was then sent off following the final whistle after clashing apparently with Airdrie gaffer Gary Bollan.
Following the one nil win he wasn't shown a straight red card, it was simply a second yellow.
Speaking to the Official Site manager Ally McCoist couldn't hide his frustration at the actions of the player, although he does appreciate he was becoming increasingly incensed as the game went on owing the tackles that his colleagues were on the end of and unfortunately that boiled over and he and the club will suffer for it.
'Bilel received a second yellow when he was coming off the park, although I don't know what it was for as I wasn't there. The referee has told him he has received a second yellow for acting in an aggressive nature and that results in a red card. I'm disappointed as it probably could have been avoided, but Bilel's an emotional player and guy. There are a lot of things in his game that are different to Scottish players so we'll sit down in the next couple of days and have a chat.'
Ian Black was also walking his own tightrope in this game and unfortunately he fell off as he picked up another yellow card himself and will now also miss one game automatically which will kick in 14 days from now.
As for what clearly seem to anger Mohsni reading other reports, McCoist added that similar to the Dunfermline game earlier in the season where the opponents, how shall we say - well I'll quote the OS - are 'using varying tactics to try to unsettle (the team) simply put the players have to man up, shrug it off, and focus on hurting the opposition where it counts, by hammering as many goals past their keeper as they can.
'Whether I think it's over the top or not, it's something we're going to have to handle. There was an attitude around East End Park and there was one around the stadium tonight which I don't think is necessarily a good one for women and children to be involved it. Let's just leave it at that, but if we're going to have to handle it that way I'm not going to complain about it in any way, shape or form.'
McCoist adds that he's a big enough boy and he's been around the block enough to know that 'the opposition and fans aren't going to open the door and let you trample all over them.'
Obviously Airdrie picked up five bookings of their own for their behaviour and Moshni's first came from an off the ball incident, and Black's came from his reaction to a tackle, so maybe questions have to be asked of the referee - but the highlights will make that far clearer I suspect.
