'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Stenhousemuir Will Prove A Tough Test

Manager Ally McCoist has said that he fully expects Stenhousemuir to replicate their Ramsden's Cup performance when we meet.

We have met Stenny twice already this season, including a memorable 8-0 victory, but McCoist has told the Official Site that nobody should be under any illusions that the previous score line will occur again, they will provide the test they did in the Cup competition.

'We expected a really tough game in the semi final and that's exactly what we got there. I think a lot of people outside of our own club and outside Stenhousemuir fancied us to win comfortably, but we knew that was never going to be the case.'

Of course following the 8-0 league victory, we won the semi final thanks to a solitary goal from Jon Daly and by rights Stenny had a great chance to have scored themselves, and that's the kind of tight game the gaffer is expecting again.

'That was a really difficult game for us, but there was no doubt we deserved to win. We knew it would be and I don't expect the weekend to be anything other than that.'

We'd take a tight one nil victory that was deserved wouldn't we?

The advantage of course of seeing them learn from the earlier game, and really tighten up is the gaffer will have known what to work on in training because he'd be expecting them to defend soundly and then look at us for the counter attack and we will be alive to that, and hopefully better prepared for it than the previous game where they might have called us cold and on the hop.

Of course we won't go into the game with any fear, we are on a fabulous run of form and the aim will be to extend that again and with the festive schedule nearing and the visit of a fat man in a red suit, the gaffer knows that three points again this weekend will set us up perfectly to approach those matches as they come thick and fast.
