Manager Ally McCoist has said he was delighted with the victory over East Fife as Rangers picked up our tenth straight victory in the league this season.
After watching us score four in the game, along with a hattrick from striker Jon Daly, Ally McCoist told the Official Site that he felt we still had consistency issues that we needed to address but overall he was happy with the result.
The manager pointed to the first half where he described us as being 'all right' but he says we were no better than that and we lacked any real urgency, or aggression and to him it looked like we lacked a purpose in the game.
He spoke to the players about that in the half time break and he told them he wanted a reaction and he was much more pleased with the second half showing.
He also explained that he wasn't overly concerned that it took us until after the restart to get the opening goal - albeit an own goal - because he says you have to credit the opposition in games for that, and it's going to be very rare that a team are ever two or three up inside the first 15 minutes as football rarely is like that.
The question was obviously going to be asked as it was the third away game on the trot that Rangers have failed to find the net in the first half, but McCoist points to the fact that matches are 90 minutes long for a reason when it comes to goal scoring times.
Another positive for the gaffer was the clean sheet again and he described our defensive performance as being 'miles better' than the game against Brechin.
The biggest positive on the day was the performance of Jon Daly again, who added another three goals to his season total.
'Jon was brilliant and they were great finishes. He took over after a great cross from Lee Wallace got us out opener. Nicky Clark did really well for Jon's second and we were delighted with the way he took is goals. I thought his finish from Lewis' cross was the best of the three. A lot of people won't realise that's a difficult one to take, it was a great ball but it's an easy one to put over the bar and Jon did well to keep it down.'
When McCoist talks about difficult scoring opportunities, you have a tendency to listen don't you.
